Rudder Post

Can someone explain what is used to seal the rudder post to the hull. I breifly looked in the archives but couldn't locate the answer. Is it a traditional packing gland like the prop shaft uses? My post is behind a bulk head and not currently accessible. No issues yet but PM is always a good idea.
